This is it…..drum roll please…….the FINAL week of the 2009 Hughes Summer! Where has the time gone???
For the last time this year….Here’s the “411” for the week
Symposium Prep-
Symposium Practice Sessions- ALL scholars are expected to attend one session this week: (8/3, 8/4, 8/5) PLEASE SIGN UP! Students should sign up at:

and then plan on checking in with me in 216 Stimson before the practice begins
• NOTE- Regardless of your symposium presentation format, ALL scholars are expected to attend a practice session and review their presentation with a grad student.
Upcoming events:
*Monday, August 3rd – Symposium Practice Session #2. 6:00PM – 7:30PM, Stimson Hall. Students should come prepared to go over with a graduate student their final symposium presentation.
*Tuesday, August 4th – Symposium Practice Session #2. 6:00PM – 7:30PM, Stimson Hall.
*Wednesday, August 5th – Symposium Practice Session #2. 6:00pm- 7:30pm, Stimson Hall.
*Friday, August 7th– Cornell Hughes Scholars Research Symposium. Invites were sent last week to all Biology faculty members, including your mentors. Please invite you friends and lab mates to join us as well.
Here is the schedule for the day:
10:00am -11:30am – Oral Presentations (I & IV) (251 & 253 Mallott Hall)
12:30pm – 2:00pm – Poster Presentations (Atrium of Biotech Bldg)
* Refreshments provided*
2:30pm – 4:00pm – Oral Presentations (II & III) (251 & 253 Mallott Hall)
4:15pm – 2009 Group Picture (Weill Hall Staircase)
Program Evaluations- Please stay tuned for an email from us about completing a program evaluation for the summer.
